Dr. Yuri Nikolsky (CEO), has 25 years of experience in life sciences, both business and research. Currently, he is CEO of Prosapia Genetics and an associated faculty at George Mason University in Virginia. In 2010-2014, Yuri served as Vice President of R&D at Thomson Reuters (TR), a global information company, where he built a scientific consulting group working with major pharmaceutical companies on Big Data management and pathway analysis. In 2003-2010 Dr. Nikolsky was CEO of GeneGo, a systems biology company acquired by TR in 2010. GeneGo’s database of protein interactions, pathways and disease-variant associations MetaBase was considered as “best in class” resource for functional analysis of omics data. Prior to GeneGo, Yuri was the CEO of ChemDiv, a fast growing pharmaceutical company. Dr. Nikolsky co-founded Integrated Genomics, Inc., a comparative genomics and bioinformatics company and held positions of a Senior Scientist for Thermogen, Inc. and a scientist at the University of Chicago. Dr. Nikolsky has an MBA degree in finance from the Booth School of Business (the University of Chicago), a Doctoral degree in molecular genetics from VNIIGenetika Graduate School and an MS degree in biology from Lomonosov Moscow State University. Dr. Nikolsky authored over 80 research articles and 5 patents.
Dr. Leonid Zhukov (CTO), brought his deep expertise in machine learning, social network analysis, information retrieval and scientific visualization. For two years Zhukov was a Director of Data Science at Ancestry.com, a leader in consumer genetics and ancestry analysis. Prior to Ancestry, Leonid worked at Yahoo.com and has consulted at several start-ups in Silicon Valley and Moscow. Leonid earned а BS and MS in Theoretical Physics from the National Research Nuclear University in Moscow, a graduate degree in Computational Engineering and a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from the University of Utah. Leonid has over 20 years of research experience and is a recognized author, public speaker and professor on data science topics. Leonid is also an adjunct professor at the School of Applied Mathematics and Information Science at the National Research University Higher School of Economics in Moscow, Russia. His interests include data mining, machine learning, information retrieval, social network analysis and visualization.
